where tiny lives are remembered among the wild things

a quiet offering

On a hilltop in Temecula, the ashes of pets are gently scattered across protected land.

This is a sanctuary for the wild things, for the memories, and for the love that lingers long after goodbye.

At Little Whiskers, each scattering is woven into the land.

Ashes settle among the sage, grasses, and roots beneath the hills. Here, every small life is honored and remembered.

returned to the earth

the memory tree

An old oak stands at the top of the hill once a silent guardian, now part of a simple ritual.

For every scattering, a memory tag is tied to one of its branches, honoring the names, the lives, and the stories of pets once loved.

These acts of remembrance have turned the oak into a Memory Tree a quiet reminder that love endures, even when goodbyes must be said.

A

where they rest

the breezy hilltop

Every scattering begins here, where the breeze moves freely across the open land. A place for a softer kind of goodbye — part of something living, and much loved.

the gentle slopes

Across the open hills, ashes find their resting place among the grasses and wildflowers. You won’t visit. But you’ll know they’re here, with the bees and the breezes.

the quiet horizon

Beyond our sanctuary, the hills stretch away into the distance. Here, their memory moves outward — carried by the wind and held by the land.

the watchful oak

The Memory Tree has become a place of comfort and quiet reverence. Each memory tag is written by hand, tied with care, and holds the stories of the small lives remembered here.

how it came to be

shea cox, dvm

I didn't buy this land for a business.

I bought it for the coyotes.

A place where wild ones could live quietly; without fences, without disturbance.

From the beginning, it was my sanctuary, too: where I hike, watch the wildflowers bloom, and simply be with the land and all the small lives that belong here.

A couple of years later, I realized this land had one more purpose. Read the full story.
